About Sherry Pittman ND*, PhD
Meet Sherry Pittman ND*, PhD
Hello! First and foremost, I’m here to help you. I am deeply driven to help you regain your health in any way that I can. Read-on to learn more about who I am, what I do, and how I can assist you in your healing journey.
In recent years, I have worked as a licensed naturopathic primary care physician in the states of Oregon and Washington. I am a licensed Naturopathic Physician in Washington state (license number NT60893848). Due to my excellent client care skills and dedication to my clients, I was recognized as one of the Top Naturopaths in the Portland Monthly magazine in 2020.
I currently function as a natural health consultant in Florida because the state does not license Naturopathic Physicians. As a health consultant, I can see clients from any state via virtual visits.
* licensed only in WA state
My philosophy and passion
I am passionate about connecting with you and working together to help you find your optimal sense of wellness! I believe in the innate healing ability of each and every one of us, and I view my role in your healing process as an investigator, advisor, and teacher. I will help you learn about your health and body in order to heal yourself and develop a greater sense of wellness.
In general, I think a person is only as healthy as each of their parts. For ideal health, we need to consider each part of ourselves including mental and emotional health, physical health, and spiritual health. I deeply enjoy helping my clients to consider their health on multiple planes, and I will gladly advise you on your healing journey in one or multiple planes of health.
What I offer:
I create personalized Natural Health Research Summaries with my clients that include information and research about botanical medicine, nutrition, pharmaceuticals, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, flower essences, lifestyle changes, and counseling tailored to each client. I have in-depth training with many healing modalities, and I aim to create individualized research summaries that resonate with my clients. Any information I provide is for educational purposes only, and you should consult with your licensed healthcare provider about making any medical changes.
I believe that authentic, heart-centered connections are the basis of any therapeutic relationship. I will spend time getting to know you so I can create recommendations that truly fit your needs. I want to know the whole you so we can create a holistic plan.
When you work with me, I will take a thorough history and really get to know you. Then I will create a personalized Natural Health Research Summary with detailed and evidence-based information. Depending on your current needs, we will decide together how frequently we will follow-up with ongoing consults.
My experience:
I have the experience and training of a naturopathic primary care provider, although I function as a health consultant within the state of FL. Prior to my medical training, I earned a PhD in pharmacology from Indiana University. I have a vast breadth of knowledge in conventional medicine and pharmacology combined with expertise and real-world experience in natural medicine. When you work with me for health consulting, you will get holistic, evidence-based recommendations.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Biology. Chemistry and marine science minors. Coastal Carolina University, Conway, SC.
Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology. Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN.
Naturopathic Medical Degree. Bastyr University, Kenmore, WA.
About me:
I’m currently living in Sarasota, FL having recently moved from the Pacific Northwest Coast. I love exploring my new town and find every chance I can to get to the beach. I also enjoy teaching Alternative Medicine adjunctively at Everglades University. I hope to get into more water sports here like kayaking, and I am also excited to put roots down within the community.
